To be honest, I never thought I would be a wedding photographer. The very idea of it used to make my heart pound and my head swim - being in charge of preserving forever memories just seemed a little too wild. Well, the joke was on me, because this is my eighth year of photographing weddings full time and I honestly cannot imagine doing anything else. I get get a front row seat to some of life's most sacred and tender moments, and it is one of the greatest honors of my life.
You know, the town famous for antiques & peaches...but mostly all those wineries? I was born and raised in the area and always knew this place was special. It’s changed a lot since I was growing up, but I feel incredibly grateful to call this place home.
I have always been drawn to storytelling in all formats, but when I began to travel the camera became my greatest tool to honestly and accurately capture the beauty I encountered. I knew I had found "my thing" and I have never been far from a camera since. Part of my degree was in photography, but I never even considered the possibility of becoming a wedding photographer and at the time I was completely naive to the possibility of photographing a wedding day with a documentary approach. As soon as I was introduced to that world and began to shoot weddings with other photographers, I quickly came around. Once I could wrap my head around the general flow of the day (and found ways to ease my type-A tendencies) I started to see the entire day open into endless possibility, Yes there would be a ceremony and some kind of celebration, but beyond that infinite possibilities could play out. My favorite part is that I get to bear witness, observe, and anticipate your moments. It is a tremendous honor to preserve not only the "who's" and "what's" of the day but how it felt. It is my job to see your day in its entirety - from the epic all the way down to the moments that go unseen by most.
I would love to hear about your life over a cup of coffee or a good ol' phone call. And I would be deeply honored to walk along side you during this wild and wonderful season of life!
